Is This Mic on?

Episode 1 is Live!

Ideas live much less vulnerably in my head.

For years, I dreamed about interviewing leaders I admired. To hear stories of how God was faithful in spite of their pains, disappointments, and broken dreams.

Perhaps your walk with God feels filled with those struggles. Maybe you are still waiting for transformation to come in a place you’ve been longing for hope.

I wanted to hear from someone else that new life is still possible. That death and discouragement are not the end of our stories and situations.

Since February, I’ve been recording the humbling human experiences that forged the depth in Jesus-following leaders. John Mark Comer, Rich Villodas, Sharon Hodde Miller, Jay Kim, Tiffany Bluhm, David Bennett, Steve Carter, Glenn Packiam, AJ Swoboda, Josh Ryan Butler and more shared how they discovered an even more beautiful view of Jesus.

Today, Episode 1 of my new podcast But I Tell Youwent live! An intimate convo with Pastor Tyler Staton from Bridgetown Church in Portland, OR, in the midst of his battle with cancer. We talked about how hope can break into our uncertainties. About how resurrection can still find a way where death seems to abound around us.

Sounds amazing right? Timeless hopeful truth in treacherous times.

Even still, I feel the risk of now putting this show out into the world, not knowing how it will go. No longer an idea. Now a vulnerability reality.

Yet, your love and support has helped me believe that sharing hope is worth the risk. You’ve empowered me to take the same courage my guests modeled in sharing their stories.

The same heroic risks you are taking each day.

As you listen, I hope you will find that your worst season is just the beginning of God’s unfolding redemption. That you will be blessed by Tyler’s story.

One more thing: It would also mean a lot if you would Review the show wherever you listen. Also if you can take a sec to Follow or Share on Instagram and TikTok. By doing so, you will help others find encouragement in their journey as well.

Grace and Peace,

Tyler
